Intro/Background Information

Hello! 3rd president of the United States coming through! What? This is the 21st Century? Bah! I knew I should have done more in my life. You ask me who I am? Why I am Thomas Jefferson, proud owner of Monticello and 3rd president of the United States. If you wish to learn more about me just read a book about me! Now I need to attend a party that . . . I am . . . 200 years late to. Hmmmmmm. I guess I could answer a few questions. I was born on April 2, 1743, but since Britain was switching to the new calendar it says I was born on April 13, 1743. Either way, I was born in Virginia. As a young one I was "hungry" for knowledge, and always trying to learn the most. At the age of about 15, my father died and left me a large wealth. With this I got into a top notch college! From there I learned about being an architect, philosopher, and lawyer and became each one at the age of 21. At that time, tension was building between America and Great Britain. Because I was fresh out of the colleges, I knew many things that old geasers had forgotten. In turn, I was elected to the House of Burgesses for representation to Great Britain. Things didn't look pretty back then. Eventually, Britain shut down the house of Burgesses and banned any meetings that dealt with the government unless they had British approval. At the time I was (even though I didn't know it) shaping the soon to become nation. My importance was major to the foundation of the United States. For now, cheers!
