The final post on this blog, by hunter!

I read Thomas Jefferson: Architect of democracy
It was written byJohn B. Severance
The copyright date is 1998
The publication is Clarion Books

This book contained easy to find info, with a list of some of the important things at the very start of the book. Then it went on in chronological order of the events in which they happened. When the posts started coming out I had enough info to replicate Thomas Jefferson perfectly. I would read another book by this author because of the organized information. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

What struck close to home and my poem

Well, about the things that affected me. I wasn't changed or motivated by anything. In fact, the only things that were dramatic for me was when my wives died, my daughters died, or my girlfriend left me.

Below you'll find a picture of my eldest daughter.

And here is my poem:

Thomas Jefferson was good old man
Wanting solitude as if inside a can
He had become the secretary of state
But he always ran kinda late
He was the third president
But would rather be just a resident
And went on to create this nation
Of which we find liberation
I applaud to you great Thomas Jefferson
To me your spirit lives on

Special or Interesting Facts, Anybody?

Back once more to create another post. This time I'm going to try enlightening you with things you probably didn't know about me. For example, everyone thinks that I bought the louisiana territory to expand the united states. Instead, that was just me deciding that if england had bought it, the united states would be surrounded!(Canada to the north, the louisiana territory to the west, and the sea to the south and east.)
Another, perhaps interesting would be the best way to put it, is that I was a nature lover, adorer, and basi
cally an environmentalist. I raced horses whenever I could. I was a surveyor. I wrote documents about the land and how it was shaped. The lay of the land was my playground of exploration when I was young. When I was older, I couldn't run around in the woods any more, so instead I sent Lewis and Clark on the journey through the louisiana territory. When they got back, I read their journals in hopes that I could re-live the woods through it. The journals only went so far. . .
One final thing I want to talk to you about is that I donated approximately 6,487 books to the government for the national library. Currently, the second largest recorded amount of books at that time was at around 3,000 books. Due to my generous donation, almost everyone who visited the national library found what they were looking for.

That's all for now,

Thomas Jefferson

My Traits

And returning again to the wonderful invention that allows you to communicate to others is ME! Hello! Now you're probably wondering, why the big entrance? Well I'm a playful guy. And now, what describes me? Well I would say I'm always looking for something to improve life.
I am focused too, so don't think you can get me from finishing my work. At least, I TRY to stay focused. When I was founding the government of the united states I believed that the articles of confederation could be edited and that the other "founding fathers" didn't. They started from scratch! Empty nothing-ness! A blank piece of paper! They could've saved alot of work but instead they say that hard work is the only way to create a nation. Why didn't they just make it simple!?
(By the way, I'm more of a simple guy.) Oh what do I care? The nation was created . I should be happy. I was also called smart. Well OF COURSE! I was chosen out of many old, fat guys to write the Declaration of Independence. I care about this nation of which I made, so I guess you could call me concerned as well.

Sincerely,

Thomas Jefferson

My Impacts on the world

Here I am again! After exploring the new world a bit, I'm back. For right now, I guess I'll tell you some of my amazing achievements, or effects on the world. Well, for starters I wrote the Declaration of Independence.
As you probably know, it gave freedom to the United States. I was also a president, as I already said. Some achievements that you may not know about is that I introduced the idea of elementary and middle schools.
Also, I was the secretary of state (before I was president) for 8 years!
Buh bye now,
Thomas Jefferson

Intro/Background Information

Hello! 3rd president of the United States coming through! What? This is the 21st Century? Bah! I knew I should have done more in my life. You ask me who I am? Why I am Thomas Jefferson, proud owner of Monticello and 3rd president of the United States. If you wish to learn more about me just read a book about me! Now I need to attend a party that . . . I am . . . 200 years late to. Hmmmmmm. I guess I could answer a few questions. I was born on April 2, 1743, but since Britain was switching to the new calendar it says I was born on April 13, 1743. Either way, I was born in Virginia. As a young one I was "hungry" for knowledge, and always trying to learn the most. At the age of about 15, my father died and left me a large wealth. With this I got into a top notch college! From there I learned about being an architect, philosopher, and lawyer and became each one at the age of 21. At that time, tension was building between America and Great Britain. Because I was fresh out of the colleges, I knew many things that old geasers had forgotten. In turn, I was elected to the House of Burgesses for representation to Great Britain. Things didn't look pretty back then. Eventually, Britain shut down the house of Burgesses and banned any meetings that dealt with the government unless they had British approval. At the time I was (even though I didn't know it) shaping the soon to become nation. My importance was major to the foundation of the United States. For now, cheers!
